About

TryfanTech.

We build websites, custom software, and AI automation for small and mid-sized UK businesses — the kind that want a clear conversation, a fixed price, and someone who actually answers the email after the work ships.

Why Tryfan.

Tryfan is a 918m peak in Snowdonia, north Wales. Every route to the summit demands scrambling over raw rock — there is no easy way up. The name is the brief: there is no easy way to make software that fits a real business. Off-the-shelf gets you most of the way; the last 20% is the work.

We exist to do that last 20% well, without dressing it up as something it isn't.

How we work.

Five things that show up on every project.

  1. 01

    Scope in plain English

Before any code, a written scope you can read in ten minutes. No jargon, no "ballpark range" that doubles by the end. If the answer is "you don't need a custom build", you hear that.

  2. 02

    Price agreed up front

Fixed price for fixed scope. Change requests get a fresh quote. No drip-pricing, no "we'll figure it out as we go". You always know what the next invoice looks like.

  3. 03

    Built on rails

Real software practice — version control, tests, code review, deployment automation. Not because it's fashionable, but because that's how the system survives the first time something goes sideways.

  4. 04

AI where it pays, not where it pitches

AI models go in where they earn their keep — classifying, drafting, matching, rewriting. Workflows over open-ended agents. Always with a fallback path the system runs without the model.

  5. 05

    Supported after launch

Most of a system's life is after the launch. We stay on for fixes, updates, and the next round of improvements — on a small monthly retainer, not a black-box-call-when-it-breaks. The aim is a system that goes on working long after the project page on this site has rotated to something else.

What we work on.

UK-based, mostly with small and mid-sized businesses across retail, hospitality, logistics, and professional services. We take on a small number of projects at a time — the goal is for every project to be the kind we're happy to put on the case studies page when it's done.

The work that lands here is usually one of three shapes: the business has outgrown its spreadsheet, an off-the-shelf tool doesn't fit the way the business actually runs, or there is a repetitive process eating hours a week that AI can do most of with a human approving the last 5%.

The first conversation is free. Worst case you leave with a clearer view of what you actually need. Best case we work together.

Let's talk.
